EdTech.com
I was able to listen to two of the shows on EdTech.com and I found them both very informative and enjoyable to listen to. What struck me as very important about this type of technological resource is that it opens up a world of information that people may otherwise not have time to access. The shows run like a conversation that you may have with colleagues at work during a team conference or planning time. However, rather than being limited to just your fellow colleagues, you are able to listen in on conversations from people in many different places. These people have new knowledge and ideas that can add a wealth of information to what you want to know about a particular aspect of technology. I was also able to check and respond to my email and organize my work for the next day while listening to the conferences; something I would not be able to do while having a conversation with someone at work. This will enable me to listen to conversations while doing other things, giving me time to listen to more information. Another thing that I found helpful about listening to the shows on the computer was that I was able to look up what was being spoken about during the show while they were talking about it. They were always very clear about where to find the information that they were talking about. This enabled me to interact with websites about the information being discussed which helped the information to resonate more quickly. For instance, I listened to a talk about a new interactive educational game called Evoke, and was able to set up my own account and become educated about how to play while listening to the talk. I immediately saw the benefits of this type of web resource and am excited about using it in the future.
